Outfits # 68 & 69: Monochromatic Gray and One Shoulder

These pictures aren't the best. We were having a huge wind storm so I didn't go all out on my looks with make-up and hair ha ha oh well. This blog isn't about me it's about clothing right so let's get to it. I wanted to play with different shades of gray. I took a cowl neck gray sweater and paired it with light gray skinny jeans. I then paired over-the-knee black riding boots to have the dark, light, dark effect. I kept my accessories silver and added the hoops and the a ring with a gray gem. Lastly, I added a black watch with faux diamond accents.

Ha this picture is beyond horrible but it showcases the dress nice. I added a flower pin in my hair but I would suggest putting a low side pony tail and attaching it at the elastic or you could clip the flower just right below the shoulder to give the dress some definition. I decided to go with drop chandelier earrings and a graphite color necklace with the same colored gems as the dress. Lastly, I finished the look off with ruffled heels.

Outfit # 67: A Bit Of Rocker A Bit Of Biker

One of the things I love, is pairing a bright color with black. Putting a bright color with black always looks sharp. I took a magenta color tunic and put it under a motorcycle style jacket. The color of the tunic just pops beside the black. I added a studded belt just above the hips for the rock n' roll vibe. The silver studs on the belt work well with the silver detailing on the jacket. The belt also adds texture. To add a little more color, I chose this necklace with a bold blue pendent. Blue also looks great with magenta. I finished this look off with skinny jeans and black heels with silver studs around the toe to tie in with the belt. My silver ball ring and silver hoops keep up with the silver detailing.

Outfit # 65 and 66: Wild Conservative and Laid Back Plaid

This outfit is totally cute and comfortable. I took a loose fitting cheetah metallic print tank top (see a close up of the fabric below) and put it under a  slouchy black cardigan. I added a long silver stone and feather necklace and faux diamond stud earrings to the outfit it give it a fun feel. I also piled on some silver rings. To keep the fun factor going I took a pair of lightly flared jeans. Lastly, I took black ballet flats to complete the look.

This is a close up of what my tank top looks like. You can see the metallic cheetah print.

This look is casual and laid back. This plaid jacket is completely cozy, warm and fun. The rule that I follow with layering pieces with plaid is I take the less dominant color in the plaid piece and take a shirt that is that color and put it under the plaid. Therefore, I took a brown (which is the less dominant color) Roxy waffle textured shirt and put it under the plaid sweater jacket. This pulls the less dominant color out of the plaid. I chose skinny jeans so I could tuck them into my Emu boots. This look could be seen walking around up in a snowy mountain town before hitting the slopes.

Outfit # 64: Big Stripes Little Stripes

Stripes are one of my new favorite prints to play with and that is why I took a skinny striped long sleeved shirt and put it under a big striped cardigan. This works because each layer has one common color and in this case, two. I chose to put a red skinny belt and cinched it at the waist because red against black and white really pops. I also paired the striped tops with dark wash jeans because it also makes the tops pop; making this outfit aesthetically interesting. I kept my accessories to a very minimum because of the busyness of the look. Lastly, I kept the look simple with choosing black ballet flats.

Outfit # 63: Warm Luxury

I am really kind of digging the faux fur this year and encourage anyone to try wearing a piece of clothing with faux fur on it. This cute shawl/ cape/ wrap/ cardigan sweater is surprisingly very warm and stylish. It is an excellent layering piece!  I chose to put a back long sleeved shirt underneath and kept my accessories silver to play off of the silver grey fur. To finish the look I chose suede boots to play up the mix of texture.

Outfit # 62: The Blues

Blue is one of my favorite colors to wear and navy looks good on everyone. I also love sweater tunics because you can easily use them to create a layered look. The look good with leggings or skinny jeans. If you are one of those people who think that you can't wear skinny jeans, well I am going to love telling you, you can. These days they make jeans for every shape and size. They make jeans for people with hips, with no hips, with gaping in the back problems and so on.

I took a cozy sweater tunic that has speckles of color and paired it with a dark wash skinny jean. I chose skinny jeans to continue to play with the boot look, which is big this fall and winter. I added a neutral infinity scarf (which is also a new fun fashion trend) to bring out the neutral colored speckles in the sweater. Navy and brown look really sharp together and therefore, I added a brown belt. This time I put the belt at my hips so I could make my torso look longer. Lastly, I added the brown boots and a gold watch for an overall well put together outfit.

Outfit # 61: Comfy, Stylish and Warm

I love long cozy cable knit sweater jackets or cardigans. It's easy to layer with and it is fun. I took a navy tank and put it under the cream sweater. I took a belt and cinched in my waist for shape. I also chose that belt because it matched the color of the boots. I added a gold necklace to tie in with the gold accents on the belt and the boots for a cohesiveness. Since it's frigid out, I took an angora beret to match up with the navy tank.

Outfit #60 : Equestrian Influence

This look is influenced by a Tommy Hilfiguresque equestrian outfit; minus the tan legging pants. I took a white button up (which everyone should have in their closet) and put it under a black suit jacket. I didn't tuck the shirt in because that would have been too stuffy. I kept my accessories black and silver for a sharp look. My earrings are influenced by the 1920's. (Which you can't see) I chose skinny jeans to tuck into a black riding boots.

I love these earrings because you can wear them with anything pretty much. The detailing is very reminiscent of the 1920's and or the Victorian era.

Outfit # 59: Laidback

I wanted a comfortable laidback look today that had a fun youthful feel. I love sweater jackets and especially ones that have puffer coat like qualities; such as hoods with fur or quilting. I took my puffer sweater and paired it with dark wash flare jeans for a youthful appearance and also because it gives a strong contrast and makes the look interesting to view. The fun part of this look comes from the Converse All Star shoes that I have on. I wanted another simple contrast on top by putting a black longsleeved t-shirt underneath the sweater. Since this look is extremely relaxed, I opted out from adding accessories. I left in my stud earrings.

Outfit # 58: Suits/ Interview

Today's outfit I wore a suit to my interview that I had and I wanted to keep it simple and not too showy and therefore I kept the accessories very minimal. I wore my black blingy watch and stud earrings. I thought that the white shirt against the black suit gave it a very sharp and classic look. No I didn't wear my hair like that in the interview! ha ha

Outfit #57: Perfect For Fall

I never use to layer back in the day but layering is really fun and you get to be extremely creative. I took a short sleeved cowl neck sweater and put a button up white shirt under. I wanted the look to be different and sophisticated and one of the reasons why I chose to put the button up under a cowl neck, was to pop the collar a bit. My skirt is wool and it is very warm and I thought that this is a perfect fun outfit for the some fall days. If it was colder I would have added tights to my legs. I took a wide textured patent belt and cinched it at my waist. Since the sweater is a cowl neck, I didn't add a necklace. I added a leather strap watch with a big round face with faux diamonds to give it something extra and added a silver ball ring. I chose to wear my knee high suede boots to keep the look heavy and fallish.

Outfit # 56: Casual

I took the same shirt from yesterday's outfit and switched out the pants to jeans making it a laid back relaxed look. I switched up the accessories to be more casual. A long necklace with a button up is chic and effortless. It gives the look a bit more of a polished look. I wanted the look to be easy going and that is why I chose riding boots. Riding boots are stylish but extremely comfortable and can be worn with jeans, skirts, and dresses.

Outfit # 55: Leather During The Day

Bold leather pants aren't only made to be worn during the night; as long as you keep the top simple. I took skinny faux leather leggings and paired them with a simple button up shirt. I added silver accessories to dress it up just a bit and finished the look off with bowed ankle booties. * Bows are an up coming trend for spring! This look is simple, fun, comfortable and effortless!

Outfit # 54: Tuxedos and Glitter

This is the season for holiday parties and fun. It's also the season for tuxedo style (which was one of my must haves for the season )which in turn can me worn year round these days. I took an winter white tuxedo jacket and put it over a sequined tank top for some glitz.  I kept my pants cropped and wanted to show off my shoes. I would love to have a cropped pair of tuxedo pants or pair of satin cropped pants to tie in with the satin lapels of the jacket but the cigarette pants I have, will work just fine. I kept accessories minimal because of the tank top. I have diamond stud earrings, a silver ball ring and a diamond stud watch to play into the glitz.

Outfit #53: Teacheresque

I love vintage looking blouses that have the round collar and fun designs. Sadly this photo is of poor quality and you can barely see any of the detail of this shirt. However, this outfit reminds me of something a teacher would wear. Adding vintage style touches to any outfit gives our modern style an instant update. I took my vintage style blouse and paired it with a black high waisted pencil skirt and a black 3/4 sleeve cardigan. For an added vintage styling tip, button the top button on the cardigan and pop out the collar on top. For accessories I chose a black leather strap watch with faux diamond accents and a silver ball ring. I chose a wide waisted style belt to cinch the waist and kept the vintage feel with my t-strap patent heels.

Outfit # 52: 40's Vintage / Website Wednesday

I am a huge fan of the 1940's and vintage clothing.
Polka dots are still in and what better way to wear them then on a 40's inspired dress. I took a black and white polka dot dress with an A-line skirted bottom and added a bright red patent belt for a huge pop of color and to give me shape. Red and black look really sharp together; especially a bright red. I took a long strand of pearls and wrapped them around three times. I also stacked pearl bracelets to keep up the vintage look. The pearls make a 1950's statement. Patent heels finishes off the inspired look.

Outfit # 51: Gradient

Surprisingly, grey jeans can be worn with many things and one of my inspirations for getting grey jeans was Victoria Beckham. Her look was grey skinny jeans with a grey sweatshirt which she wore off the shoulder and red pumps. I took my grey skinny jeans and added a darker grey ruffle tank top. Adding a ruffle top adds volume for those who are less fortunate. I topped off the look with a black boyfriend blazer which created a gradient look. I kept the accessories simple up top because I wanted the ruffle top to be the focus. I added a black leather strap watch that played up the masculinity factor of the blazer. I finished the look with a silver ball ring diamond stud earrings and black heels.

Outfit # 50: Updated Work

Who said work clothing had to be stiff and boring with just a nice pair of pants and a button down?  An easy way to update that look is simple; just add a fur vest or even just a fur neck muff.  I took my boring look of grey low waisted pants and a 3/4 sleeve button  down shirt and added a grey faux fur vest. Not only does this add extra style, it adds an extra layer of warmth! The pants are extra long and therefore, I added some platform heels. I included some color with the blue pendent necklace. My black leather strap watch adds sophistication and a masculine touch. A silver ball ring adds some shine. I have a pair of white diamond stud earrings and a pair of blue stud earrings that match the necklace.

Outfit # 49: 70's Inspired

70's trends are one of the trends of the fall and we have actually seen them since last spring. Just take a pair of flared jeans and tuck in a blouse and you pretty much have a 70's inspired look. Therefore, I took a satin turquoise blouse and paired it with some dark wash flared jeans. I thought that brownish tones would look best with this look and that is why I used a camel colored double wrap belt with gold accents. I put a gold watch, gold hooped earrings and a gold necklace to keep up with the gold accents and the dark colors actually make those gold accessories pop. I finished the look off with black flats.

Outfit # 48: Old Time Glamour

Tis' the season for holiday parties and new years fun! Today or shall I say tonight's outfit is effortless, glamorous, fun and a bit vintage (which is my absolute favorite). I took a strapless satin LBD (little black dress) and draped on multiple necklaces and double looped my long strand of pearls to make it appear as if I had more necklaces on. Multiple of anything whether it's necklaces, bracelets, or rings is always a good way to add extra style and makes your look more complete and full.

Since fur is in this season everywhere, I added a real vintage mink fur stole from the 1950's that belonged to my great aunt (sorry animal lovers. I love animals too but this is vintage. By this time the animal would have died from old age.) Anyway, back to fashion! I also added two rings. A silver ball ring and a vintage diamond row ring that also belonged to my great aunt. Lastly, I finished the look with faux diamond studs.

To keep the look vintage, I added patent t-strap heels.

Outfit #47: Conservative + Edge = Fun

Today I was going for conservative but added some edge with my military inspired boots. I wanted this look to be ultimately warm. Therefore, I chose a wool skirt and a turtleneck. I added tights for added warmth and texture to the outfit. I added a skinny magenta belt to break up the look and to of course add some color. I added a silver ball ring and a silver bracelet for some shine and kept my earrings simple with studs.

However, after viewing this outfit, I would change a couple of things differently for next time. I would have added a different style tight; still textured but probably tights with ridges going vertically for leg lengthening purposes. I would also change my shoes for lengthening purposes as well.

Outfit # 46: Boots With The Fur

One of the things we see every fall is corduroy. If you are a woman above the age of 30 then the long cord skirt with boots works. However, since I am still in my 20's and not really a fan of corduroy in general, I still wanted to have the heavy material in my wardrobe because it is a fall and winter staple. Therefore, I opted for a corduroy mini which I actually found to be super cute. Since the pleats are at the bottom of the skirt, it gives it a youthfulness. I paired the tan skirt with a winter white ribbed turtleneck to play with texture. The ribbed detailing of the turtleneck makes it look like it's a heavy warm material. I kept my accessories simple with only a watch and stud earrings. I chose my suede wedge boots with fur detailing because it plays in with the cozy fun feel of the look. Since I am in a skirt, I needed to add some extra warmth and that is why I added long socks. I bunched them and peek-a-booed them at the top of the boot for some extra style.

Outfit #45: Shirtdress

I took a grey shirt dress that had silver sparkling throughout the fabric and layered a black button up under it for a more interesting presentation. Since the dress didn't really have any shape to it, I added a skinny belt to give the look color and shape. I put textured tights with the look for two reasons. One reason was because it is super cold and I find that textured tights are a lot warmer then regular opaque tights. The second reason was to give the look some texture with the pattern of the tight. I went a little heavy on the accessories because I wanted to add more silver to bring out the silver sparkles in the dress.

Outfit # 44: Color blocking Take Two

I took a cowl neck sweater (any sweater would pretty much work for this look except a turtle neck sweater) and layered a button up under it because the sweater is short sleeved. I decided to add my bright colored jeans because I have a lot of black and grey colored clothes and I try to incorporate color in some ways most of the time therefore, I thought that pairing my black sweater with my bright colored jeans would give me a chance to explore with more color blocking. I rolled my jeans at the bottom to give it an interesting aesthetic and also because I could add my wedge booties. I think tucking in my jeans to the booties would look silly and that is another reason why I rolled my jeans. I kept my accessories simple with only my black watch and a silver ball ring.

Outfit # 43: Snow Grunge

I was going for another ski bum relaxed look. I took a longsleeved waffle Roxy shirt and put it under a rolled up plaid shirt for a layered look. Layering is fun and a good way to get creative while staying warm. I added destressed, lightly flared jeans to give the look some shape. I topped it off with a knitted poof ball hat and a white wide cuffed watch to tie in with the white on the Roxy shirt.
I kept comfy with my faux Ugg suede slipper style shoes which look exactly like Ugg brand but cost 3/4 less than an actual pair of Uggs.

Outfit # 42 : Layers

Layering is fun, stylish and essential for cold weather! I took a simple v-neck sweater and put a white tank underneath. Putting a cardigan over the v-neck is not only for added warmth but added style because I rolled the sleeves of the cardigan and then rolled and flipped the sleeves up over the cardigan for some extra styled elements. I added a bright color to the look with a skinny belt wrapped around my waist. To top the look off, I added a faux fur vest to add some texture and warmth. I kept the accessories simple with silver rings and a silver watch to keep the focus on the layering pieces. I picked silver ballet flats to break up the darkness of the jeans and to tie in with the grey sweater.

Outfit # 41

This look is a bit similar to another one I had but the difference is the style of sweater and the addition of a cheetah print scarf. Instead of a cowl neck sweater, I took a Marilyn (off the shoulder) sweater tunic and put it under a leather jacket for some toughness. I added the cheetah print scarf to get away from the plainness of just a black and white look. Dark wash jeans make the top half stand out and the neutral suede boots picks up the neutrals in the scarf; tying the top half and the bottom half together. I kept the accessories gold to stay within the neutral tones of the outfit and detailing of the jacket.

Outfit # 40: Sweater Dress Layers

I think sweater dresses are essential for the fall and winter and many are short sleeved so layering is key. I took my grey sweater dress and put a 3/4 sleeve button up under it. I would have liked to have had a long sleeved black one instead but I don't have one. Therefore, I rolled the sleeves up and styled the cuff down because I thought that the 3/4 sleeved one would look kind of goofy with such an odd length difference between the dress and the button down. I popped the collar up just a bit to make it stand out. I added leggings and chose my over-the-knee riding boots to give the look some edgy detailing. I removed the sweater fabric belt that came with the dress and added a skinny colored one. I knotted the belt after I put it through the loops for a more interesting effect. I added a stack of rings and added diamond stud earrings. I should have added my black diamond accent watch.

Outfit # 39: Bomber Classic

This look is completely simple and effortless while still making a statement. It is a total t-shirt and jeans look. I decided to wear dark wash jeans to play off of the white t-shirt. It gives the look contrast. Since the jeans are just long enough to skim the ground I chose flats. With a longer jean, I would opt for heels. I took a classic bomber jacket to top off the look while adding aviators and a gold watch for a fun vibe.

Outfit #38 : Sophisticated Leather

Wearing leather other than a jacket takes some bravery. It all depends on what you pair it with. I took edgy faux leather leggings and paired it with a conservative draped neck tunic. I also made the look a little more conservative by adding a boyfriend blazer. I rolled the cuffs up to show the pin striped lining. I added a chunky black necklace to add some texture. I also added a silver ball ring and heels with stud detailing around the toe to keep the edginess.

Outfit #37: Color Blocking!

Color blocking is something that I don't see very often. I think it takes a lot of confidence to pull it off and I encourage some bravery!
This look is known as color blocking; which means taking different solid colors stacking them on top of each other. I took a bright turquoise sweater over a white button down and put it on top of some bright blue jeans. I added a spec of  contrast pink with the skinny belt and a pink watch to break up the color family of blues. I kept the earrings and shoes simple. I rolled the jeans, the sleeves of the sweater and cuffed over the white button up all to give the look some different styling then just letting them be as is. This makes the look more interesting.

Outfit #36: Simple Simple Simple and Chic

Here is a simple button down white shirt; which every woman should own. and tucked it in to a pair of wide legged trouser jeans. If you are going to wear trouser jeans on bottom you want to have a more fitted top. If you go wide on top and bottom it will look frumpy. This is a key thing to remember when playing with proportions. Since my jeans are just long enough to hit the floor, I decided to wear a kitten heel because if I chose a big heel, they would be high waters and that is just silly looking.  The accessories give the look pops of color. I chose a magenta belt and added a blue and magenta bracelet to tie in with the belt and a necklace with a blue pendent which you can barely see (sorry.) My earrings which you also can't see are diamond studs and I added a silver ball ring to add some dimension

These slingbacks look very pointy but when pants hang over them they look super cute! The kitten heel is cute and makes the shoe comfy.

Outfit #35: Button Down Casual Fun

I took a tan pin striped button down shirt and paired them with some jeggings.  One of the other big colors this fall is camel. Therefore, I kept my accessories gold and tans. I took a tan wrap belt to cinch my waist and knotted it for more of an interesting aesthetic. Gold earrings and a gold watch keep the look fun and youthful. I added nude shades and tan sweater boots to keep the look simple and effortless. Sweater boots are not only cozy and warm, but they give an  interesting look with the different texture.

Outfit# 34: Intro to Sequins

It's time for holiday parties and that means sequins right!?! Wrong! It doesn't matter when you wear sequins anymore. In fact sequins is being seen all over with just a sweat shirt on top and sequins on the bottom or vice versa. I took a sequin tank top and paired it with a white blazer for contrast and sharpness. I didn't wear a necklace because that would be way to much shiny on top and with sequins, less is more. I kept my accessories to a minimum because I wanted the focus to be the top half. I chose silver earrings and a ring and added my black watch with faux diamonds to keep the top half dressy. I toned down the look with jeans for a relaxed factor and played up my bottom half with my ruffle shoes.

Outfit # 33: Simple Yet Fun

Since red is one of the fall's "it" colors, I wanted to put something together that was fun and simple. This look was actually inspired by a look I saw in one of my fashion magazines. One of the things I wanted this fall was red cigarette pants but skinny red jeans are just as good. I can roll them up or roll them down because they hit me right at the ankle. Black and red look really sharp together and therefore, I took a simple black crew neck t-shirt and put a simple white long sleeved shirt underneath. I added my black wide cuffed watch and black ballet flats to make this look very simple. The red pants make a bold fun statement. If you're scared to wear such a bright color on the bottom, don't worry I was at that point once. However if you start wearing them a lot, you're confidence will soar!

Outfit # 32: Snowboarding bunny

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! Many people go up to the mountains here in Colorado for the Thanksgiving holiday because the snow is really starting to get good and today's outfit is aimed for the snow towns! I wanted to bring out my inner snowboarder. I paired a long sleeved waffle shirt under a Roxy t-shirt. The waffle shirt makes the look a little more interesting and it adds texture. I added my Roxy beanie for a fun cool vibe. Skinny jeans are the best to wear with boots. They are the easiest to tuck in. I added my leather wide cuffed black watch to give the look some more edge. The watch is placed over the sleeve for a more functional purpose but still gives the look an interesting detail.

The DC boots are very comfortable and warm and because they look like snowboarding boots, they are perfect for walking around Keystone or Vail. The faux fur gives it that snow bunny feel. The cool embellished "DC" detailing gives it that cool snowboarder chick look.

Outfit # 31 : Stripes on Stripes

Playing with stripes is fun and I wanted to play with two different kinds. When pairing stripes, make sure you have at least one color in both that are matching. For example, there is a navy blue stripe in the dress and the cardigan is navy. It doesn't matter the thickness of the stripes. It's still going to look awesome! I put my gold hoops and gold watch on. I took a double wrapped belt and instead of putting the end through the buckle, I knotted it instead to give a different aesthetic. I finished the look off with adding a masculine style over- the-knee riding boot to counteract with the femininity of the dress.

Outfit # 30: Jumpers

Jumpers are fun to style and depending on the
one you get, retro ones are definately classic and
cool! I took my black jumper and paired it with a
white long sleeved turtle neck. This look deffinately
has a 1960's feel. I paired my look with my pantent
t-strap heels which gives it a girly touch. I added a
skinny pink belt to add some color. I have recently
been playing with belt lengths and placement. Like
yesterday's look, I placed the belt higher around the
rib area. I added a black watch to complete the look.

Outfit # 29: Broken Up Black and Grey

I took a cowl neck sweater tunic and paired them with leggings. Then added a studded belt to give the look texture and to break the tunic up. I decided to raise the belt a little higher then my waist to give it a different interesting aesthetic. The entire look is broken up by black accents. I added black hooped earrings and grey calf boots to give some more breaks in the look. To keep up with the broken up look I included my black faux diamond stud watch to give it a little bling.

OUTFIT #27 & #28

For Saturday's outfit, I decided to put something together that I would go dancing in. So I took a short sleeved tunic and paired it with some leggings. Leggings are a great alternative to tights.  I gave the tunic some shape by adding a studded belt which gave the look some texture. I gave it some structure by adding the leather jacket. I added my faux diamond studded watch to play up the night time factor. I conclude the look with some grey calf height boots.

For Sunday's look, I was thinking morning tea/ church if ya go or maybe just a brunch. I chose a girly dress in a two toned neutral shade with a punch of contrast with the black stripe at the bottom. For a easy styling tip; I took a long black ribbon and wrapped it around my waist twice and just added a flower pin where I tied the knot to create a belt. The black homemade belt breaks up the dress with more contrast. I finished the look with adding black t-strap shoes which gives the look a vintage feel and a black headband. I added a bit of polish with a silver flower ring.
