Outfit # 100: Bright and Dark

I love blue and yellow together. The yellow against the navy is such a great contrast and that is why I love this yellow and navy argyle cardigan. The yellow banded shell underneath really makes the argyle stick out and is a great addition then just a white shirt underneath. The navy blue beaded necklace adds some extra contrast to the yellow shell. I paired the tops with skinny jeans. I cuffed them for a touch of extra style. To finish the look, I added a white leather strap watch and silver ballet flats. The silver tone plays of the white from the cardigan.

Outfit # 99: Three Tone Color Blocking

One of the issues that I have had for a long time is incorporating color to my wardrobe. I was scared to wear color; especially colored pants. I have tried to come out of my comfort zone and add colored pants that aren't typical like blue jeans. I encourage other people to try and go out of their comfort zone. I took mint green skinny fit corduroy pants (which I am not a fan of corduroy pants but these cords are what I would consider micro cords) and paired it with a slouchy navy blue cardigan. Blue and green look really good together and I added another touch of green with the belt that is cinched at the waist. I went simple with a white fitted t-shirt underneath for some separation of each color.  I wish I had navy ballet flats but since I don't I chose my silver ones. I added a old watch but now that I am looking at the look, I would have changed that and put a white or silver watch with it. If I leave the gold watch, I should have put a light gold necklace with the ensemble. So take your Christmas money or gift cards and venture out of your comfort zone and buy some colored pants.

Outfit # 98: Sunday Color

For Sunday, I wanted to be casual as usual but wanted to wear bright colors. Therefore, I took this cropped bright magenta sweater and put a navy striped long sleeve t-shirt underneath. I took a pair of skinny jeans and cuffed them and folded the sleeves up on the sweater so the stripes would show and to also give it some style. I paired the look with some silver flats. I am wearing diamond studs and a white watch for my accessories. I wanted the sweater to be the focus and that is why I did not choose to wear a necklace.

Outfit # 97: Simple

This look is inspired by the lovely Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast At Tiffany's". This look is pretty simple and beyond effortless but still is stylish and fun. I took a simple pair of black cigarette pants and put a plain white t-shirt with it. The cardigan give this look a warm layer for the days that aren't so warm but also give it a harsh contrast against the white. I added  the slightest touch of color with a layer of blue beads in the necklace. I wanted to add a multi layer necklace to give this simple look something extra and some dimension. I finished the accessories off with a silver ball ring and a faux diamond stud watch. I simplified this look even more with the black ballet flats.

Outfit #96: Afternoon Chic

This time I took a tank banded top and put a cream leather jacket over it. Gold accessories accent the look along with gold detailing on the jacket as well. Neutral sunglasses and brown boots give it a bit of chicness. This look would be cute to go out at night or an afternoon of shopping.

Outfit # 95: Girly Edge

I was going for a contradicting look with a bit girly and a little bit  of edge. Bows are going in and out every year. They are very girly and that is the girly part of my outfit. I then threw on a cropped leather jacket to give the look some edge along with skinny jeans and some black heels with silver studs on them.  For accessories, I added a silver bracelet, a silver ball ring and some silver hoops.

Outfit # 94: Teal With Neutral Accents

This outfit may be a bit springy but with the 60 degree days we have been having here in Colorado, why not bust out some cute spring stuff. I took a teal banded top with fluttered sleeves and chose to wear gold accessories because I thought that it looked really sharp together. I chose a brown belt to go around the band part of the top to give the look some shape. I chose to add a gold watch to tie in with the gold necklace. For footwear, I chose to go neutral with brown and tan snake pattern lightly wedged sandals in relation to the neutral accessories.

Outfit # 93: Two Toned

I wanted this look to be warm and comfy but also have some cute elements. I chose a ruffle tank and opted out of wearing a necklace because I wanted the ruffles to be reminiscent of a necklace. I also wanted to have a two toned look and that is why I chose grey and black. The grey hat ties in with the grey ruffle tank and the chunky sweater ties in with the ballet flats. I chose minimal accessories and wanted to play with rings that also had a grey toned stone.

Outfit #92: Work Look With Pops of Pink

This outfit is something I put together for work. I took a pair of grey dress pants and put a pink tank top under a black cardigan. I think the pink really stands out from the black cardigan and the dark pants. I also put a darker pink skinny belt over the cardigan to make it pop as well. I went simple on top with accessories with pink stud earrings because I went heavier on the bottom with a diamond stud black strap watch and a silver ball ring. Next time I will put a silver necklace with this outfit.

Outfit # 91: Sunday Funday Polo Simplicity

Sunday's look is casual and simple; just like Sundays should be. I took a Ralph Lauren polo and paired it with a flair jean. I thought the look should have something extra because the look is so simple and therefore chose a gold watch and some blue and green beaded bracelets for my accessories. I kept the look even more casual with my white boat shoes.

Outfit # 90: Updated Bright Colors

This look is very similar to the one from a couple of weeks ago. I updated this look a bit just by taking away the striped cami and added a solid navy tank. I also added a striped scarf and chose a darker wash skinny jean. I made this look a little more casual by switching out ballet flats for Converse All Stars. I still cuffed my jeans for a modern feel.

Outfit # 89: Fun With A Touch Of Class

One of my favorite things to put together is a graphic tee with a blazer. A blazer dresses up any look and gives it a touch of class. I was going for a fun casual look and I accomplished that with adding my Converse All Stars. I chose skinny jeans to cuff and I folded up the sleeves. A casual bright pink watch connects with the bright pink on the shirt.

Outfit # 88: Button Up Tunics

I took a white and green pinstripe tunic button up and put a pop of yellow underneath with a cami. I simply paired it with a pair of skinny jeans and added few and simple accessories with a hemp and blue bead necklace and a white thin leather strap watch. I chose silver ballet flats. This look is simple yet fun to go walking around downtown for an afternoon of shopping on a mildly warm day like today. I would add a light neutral color anorak or a navy anorak and belt it at the waist for those who get chilly on 60 degree days.

Outfit #87: Rock and Maxi

I was going for a punk look that is appropriate for winter time using my summer maxi dress. I simply put a a grey cowl neck over my dress for it to appear as if I was wearing a skirt. I added a leather jacket to toughen up the look and give it some variety of textures. To keep the look casual I chose to wear my Converses. I kept my accessories silver to make them stick out against the black.

Outfit # 86: Detailed Cardigans

I love cardigans that have some type of embellishment on them. This cardigan is really cute with it's taffeta type material flowers. It's just the right color of neutral and therefore can be worn with any color underneath. Since the cardigan is neutral, I chose gold accessories. I wanted the color underneath the cardigan to pop so that is why I chose a bright pink. I cuffed my skinny jeans and chose to wear black ballet flats to.

Outfit #85: Navy & Chartreuse

I took a simple boat neck 3/4 sleeve shirt and added a chartreuse and navy scarf to add texture, a pop of color and some dimension. I paired the color on top with neutral color pants so that the top half would show contrast and pop aesthetically. I added a silver ball ring, silver ballet flats, silver earrings and a silver bracelet. I wanted to keep the accessories silver to make the white stripe in the scarf stand out more.

Outfit# 83 & 84

So this look is by far not very fashionable. However for Saturday's outfit, I am supporting my Denver Broncos for making it to the 2nd round of playoffs. I wanted to make this a little more girlier so I chose to wear my Emu boots. You can add girly touches by adding some accessories to the look.

Sunday fun day update! So you might remember in the first week I paired this cowl neck tunic sweatshirt with some leggings. This time I put a collard shirt underneath to dress it up just a tad and paired it with skinny jeans but I kept it casual with my Converse shoes. I didn't add any accessories because Sunday outfits I would like to keep simple and effortless.

Outfit #82: Sweater Poncho Take 2

You may remember this sweater poncho from the first month but the difference for today is that instead of a collard button up shirt underneath, I put a magenta striped long sleeved shirt. I decided to put that shirt underneath because it is in the same color family as the sweater and gives it a little more color. I switched my jeans from skinny ones to ones with a bit of a flare. I chose my faux Ugg slipper shoes to keep the look casual. I chose a gold watch for some shine.

Outfit #81: Pink

The look I was going for here was a chill skater/snowboarder. I chose this zip plaid hoodie and put a similar pink tank top underneath. In December, I said that I wanted to put the less dominant color as the under color but in this situation, I wanted my dominant color to be pink all around and that is why I chose my hat with the pink Hurley logo on it. Also the pink tank underneath breaks up the white and makes the outfit look like it has more layers than it really does. I chose my emu boots for the chill aspect of the outfit a long with the hat. I chose to have limited accessories because I wanted a no fuss ready to walk out the door in 5 minutes and still look cute.

Outfit #80: Casually Layered

Today I was going for a layered and I simply did this by adding a short sleeved sweater cardigan vest. This piece can be pretty much layered with anything and if you have one or ever get on then a neutral color is your best bet to really go with anything. I layered it over a magenta striped long sleeve shirt because I wanted my look to be colorful and aesthetically pleasing. I also did this by adding a brown belt with gold hardware and chose gold accessories to play that aspect up. I also chose to wear my suede neutral color boots for a casual look.

Outfit #79: Winter White and Black

This look is ultra feminine and I really like how this ruffle blouse looks tucked into a pencil skirt. The blouse is more of an A-line shape which also looks great un-tucked and that is how I usually wear it but this time I wanted to try something different. Since the blouse is a halter top, I chose to wear a 3/4 sleeve cardigan. I chose a patent leather belt and shoes to add some different textures to the outfit as well as give it a more interesting aesthetic. I chose to stick with silver accessories because like I said before, I love how it polishes and completes the look.

Outfit # 78: Not So Boring Work Look

For today's outfit, I was going for something a little bit more then a boring work outfit with just a button up and pants. Therefore, I wanted to add a bit of design to make it more intriguing. I chose this blouse because I loved the draped neck and the tie at the waist because I can wrap it around more then once and really cinch my waist to give the blouse a lot of shape. I kept my accessories silver to stay within the color palette of the shirt. I chose to wear platforms with the pants because they are extra long for the purpose of the heel height.

Outfit #77: Relaxed Sunday Regatta

I am loving this striped sweater because it can be worn in the fall and all through the spring. Although it has a nautical regattaesque look to it, it reminds me also of something you would see in a stereotypical movie about college kids with rugby shirts ha ha. But I love this sweater and the drawstring detailing with the cowl boat neck. I chose to pair boyfriend styled jeans with this particular sweater for an carefree Sunday fun day look. Of course I chose my Chuck Taylors with this look to keep it relaxed and effortless; along with just wearing my gold hoops to make it simple.

Outfit #76: Conclusion of Pre-Spring Week

This is kind of an ironic picture concluding my pre-spring preview looks. All the white spots you see in the picture are snowflakes. I love this style of dress because it reminds me of the early 1960's spring/summer dress. I love wearing an A-line skirt because it gives my body shape. I do not have big hips and I am pretty much straight up an down and the skirt on this dress hides that. I added a light cognac and cream belt because it pops against the navy blue. For accessories I added gold hoops and a gold watch to pull out the gold on the belt. I also chose my red ankle strap heels emulate a nautical spring/ summer fun affect.

Outfit # 75: Burst of Yellow

This look is one of my favorites. I love the cardigan and I love how the yellow scarf stands out against the navy blue. Navy Blue and yellow look really good together. I took a solid and sheer cardigan and put it over a navy tank top. Earlier in the week I mentioned that lighter washed denim is more popular in the spring and summer but dark jeans can still be worn. I cuffed the jeans and since the denim is lighter on the cuffed side it adds a bit of a 1960's vibe. I chose my sunuck shoes to match the brightness of the white cardigan. I added my pink watch it give my look a touch of a different color.

Outfit # 74: Light Weight Sweaters

With this outfit, I was going for a simple outfit that could be seen walking on the beach, going for a stroll shopping the stores by the beach, or even sailing on a boat. I love this light weight sweaters style with the sheer and non-sheer threading. I put a orange striped shirt underneath to add some visual interest because you can see the orange and white coming through the sheer parts of the sweater. I chose light washed skinny jeans so that there would be a contrast between the light and dark. I wanted to put my white slip on shoes with this outfit because it gives that look that you would wear on a boat. For my accessories I chose my silver orchid pendent necklace and my wide white cuffed watch.

Outfit # 73: Laid Back Nautical

This look is simple and relaxed I took a relaxed stripe 3/4 sleeve shirt with cute detailing such as a hood, drawstrings, button flaps on the sleeves and a deep v-neck. Due to the deep v-neck, I added a navy tank top underneath but any color would really work. To add a bit more color, I decided on a hint of pink with my watch. I chose a pair of relaxed boot cut jeans and flip flops for the laid back part of the look. I decided to keep the accessories limited for a no fuss ready to walk on the beach outfit and that is why I only added the watch and a hemp beaded necklace that I made into a double wrapped bracelet. (Image seen below.)

Outfit # 72: Bright Colors

We see darker jeans in the fall and winter and lighter washes in the spring and summer. With this outfit I took light distressed skinny jeans and put bold colors on top. I took a skinny navy striped cami and put a bold magenta cardigan over it. I then took a colorful scarf that has both blue and magenta colors in it to tie the whole look together. The light on bottom and darker on top give this look an interesting contrast. I added a white watch and silver accents with the ballet flats and my ball ring.

Outfit # 71: Nautical Green, Blue and Red Accents

To continue with pre-spring preview I wanted to show that you can wear red and green and not have it look like a Christmas extravaganza. I took a 3/4 sleeve boat neck t-shirt and put it under a blue anorak. Adding the blue to the mix is what keeps this look from looking like Christmas fun. The anorak has nautical elements which I just love and are classic pieces that everyone should own because they really don't go out of style; just like the nautical stripes. I added a red skinny belt and you can't really tell but I just tucked in part of my shirt to show the belt which is a styling tip that has been seen a lot this fall. A white watch always adds a freshness to the look. I added white slip on shoes that has a boat shoe quality to it. Coincidentally the shoes have a green tag accent to it and that is another reason I chose these shoes for this outfit. It ties in with the Green on the shirt. I also added red crescent earrings that can be seen below.

Outfit # 70: Pre-Spring Previews

This week is going to be all about resort wear and  pre-spring looks. A lot of people start gearing up for cruises and spring break. These outfits can also be worn in the fall or winter time on mild days as well. This whole week is suppose to be in the 50's here in good old Colorado.

So for the day after New Years Eve, I wanted a chill and relaxed look that still has some styling elements to it. I took a 3/4 sleeve boat neck navy shirt and added a bright red skinny belt to cinch my waist in. I chose to wear boyfriend jeans because they are really comfortable. Then to play with the youthful fun factor I chose to wear my casual Chuck Taylors. This look would also look cute with some Sperry Topsider boat shoes. I kept the accessories to a minimum with a silver ball ring and some diamond studs.
