Outfit # 8: Soft Edge

For todays' outfit I was trying to be cozy and comfy but want to add a bit of edgyness to a semi conservative look. The cowl neck sweater is perfect for the fall and is just the right amount of style. I added the leather jacket and the black riding boots to give it a sense of hardness. I added the beanie to give it a girly touch.

Recently I have been experimenting with styling qualities and I found that bunching and folding sleeves is a fun way to make your outfit stand out from others. It also gives you the chance to update a once plain look.

Outfit # 7: Sunday Funday Cas

Sunday is the perfect day to be completely casual and relax from all the fun you had the night before! Which is why I put this outfit together. It's still fashionable, functionable and comfortable. You can't go wrong! For those of you who have young kids, this would be a perfect outfit to go play with them in the park or to watch and support them playing sports! I love the cowl neck of this shirt. It is a fun and flirty detail to such a casual top. My other favorite thing about this top is the buttons on the hip part of the shirt. It to adds a cute detail to a casual top to make it a bit more fashionable than wearing just a plain sweatshirt. I picked this watch to give it some edge and to style it up a little more. The comfortable factor is also played up by pairing the cute top with some leggings; which allow you to lounge around or run around. I added my awesome adidas shoes because they are comfortable to wear all day and they also give a fashionable factor because they aren't typical athletic running shoes.

Outfit # 6 Date Night Stripes and Dots

For a lot of people, Saturday usually means dressing up and going out. It could also be date night! So I came up with this outfit using the theme for the week. Mixing prints. Polka dots are very hot right now this fall and I feel like we will be seeing it through the winter and all the way into next spring. I took my boat neck navy and cream striped t-shirt and paired it with my navy and cream polka dot shorts. These shorts are so cute and I love that they have pockets. When I was styling this outfit, I wanted it to be cute but a bit sexy by playing up my legs. When going about dressing sexy, you want to show skin but not overly done. If you have less on top, make sure you aren't showing a lot of skin on bottom and vice versa. I added the belt to break the outfit up and give it some color with the cognac part of the belt. I kept the shoes neutral to keep the focus on the mixed patterns. Added gold accents with the watch and earrings and opted out of wearing a necklace because I feel that would have been way to much. Sometimes less it always more on accessories.
Pairing nude color shoes to an outfit where you're showing skin on the bottom half, is an awesome way to add length to your legs.

Outfit # 5: Day to Night

A lot of working people may get to have casual Fridays where they don't have to really dress up. They can wear jeans and be a little more creative with their outfits. Here I have taken my leather jacket and paired it with a striped shirt which is still a trend and probably always will be. I continued to play with prints by adding a leopard print scarf to give it a more sophisticated feel. I paired my outfit with ballet flats to give it a girly touch and styled my jeans by cuffing them. (Be careful how you cuff because it can really shorten the length of your legs.) I would consider this look to be edgy and fun but still appropriate for casual Friday. Now take this look from day to night for happy hour with friends.....

To give the previous look an update for night time, I switched out the leopard scarf for a lengthy necklace with feather and stone detailing. (Feather accessories are very in right now; whether they are earrings, a necklace or even a hair accessory.) I then replaced the ballet flats with a pair of platform heels. I added a wristlet in case of some dancing and that way I wouldn't have to tug around my big bag.

Outfit # 4: Dots, Ruffles and Stripes Oh my!

Hello, Thursday readers! Welcome to mixing prints take two! I paired the navy ruffle polka dot top with the navy and grey striped cardigan to give the outfit texture and dimension. Also remember mixing prints can be easy. Just make sure each piece has the same color or same color family. Here you will find me dressing for my body type. Adding a ruffle shirt gives a little more volume on top if you aren't very fortunate like I am. I am highlighting my long legs with my favorite over-the-knee riding boots and trying to play up features that aren't necessarily my best. Adding a belt at the waist gives me some shape and is making my short waste and short torso look longer. Cognac accessories break up the dominant navy in the outfit and gives it a sense of refinement.

Outfit #3 Cozy Conservative / Website Wednesday

One of the fall trends this year are ponchos and capes. This plum cable knit cape/poncho is a perfect addition for the chilly fall days. I layered it over a white collard button up shirt to give it a conservative feel. It's cozy and comfortable without being overly bulky. If I get cold I can just flip down the cuffs and pull down the sleeves. I paired them with jeggings so I could show off my cute suede toggle boots. I picked gold accessories to make the look more refined and wanted to keep the accessories to a minimum so the main focus would be on the cape. This outfit is perfect for cozying up on the couch watching a movie with hot chocolate or for an afternoon of shopping.

Boots are all the rage this year and there are so many different heights and styles. You can't go wrong with any of them. I thought these boots were super cute to add to this outfit. They are cozy and comfortable. The toggle buckles give them a unique look and I love shoes that are different. The heel height is just right and adds a bit of sexyness to the look.

I would also like to talk about one of the websites that I frequent quite often. Alloy.com has a lot of adorable clothes. They focus most on teen fashion but a lot of the sweaters and pants any woman can wear. They carry multiple inseams and for those of you who find it hard to find the perfect length in a pant, Alloy is just the place for you! They also have many different styles of clothing. Including many bohemian style dresses, preppy ballarina tops, and rock n' roll accents. Check them out and you can't go wrong!

Outfit # 2: Edgy Sophistication

One of my favorite pieces to add to an outfit is a jacket; especially a blazer. I am a big fan of boyfriend blazers which are still in style and will be seen quite often in many of my looks. They are versatile and add a unique preppy feel to any look. However, this fall season shorter cropped styles are the focus. Having cropped styles up top add length to the bottom. I was trying to go with a sophisticated look but added many edgy touches to toughen the look up.
One of the accessories that I used to toughen it up was my over-the-knee riding boots that are still in trend from last fall. Also, my long silver waterfall necklace and silver hooped earrings give the outfit a little sass. Lastly, my black watch with faux diamond accents plays up the sophistication factor but also giving a masculine quality with the leather strap.

Outfit #1 Playing With Prints

Trying to mix prints together is not only a bit tricky but it takes a brave soul to try and experiment with them. As I get older, I am finding myself to be a little bit braver with my fashion choices. So I tried mixing prints together for Mondays outfit.

I would consider this outfit to be  "french cafe chic." The boat neck navy striped top gives it the french feel. I paired it with an navy "A" line skirt to give it a flirty feel and also give myself some shape by cinching my waist with a belt. I wanted to keep my accessories simple and minimal. I added red shoes to give it a pop of color along with my bright red lips.

I love these shoes! The bows on top add to the french girlyness of the outfit.

365 Outfits Debut

365 Outfits is for the woman who loves fashion, shopping, creativity and style! You're probably saying that there are hundreds of blogs out there on fashion. Why should I read this one? What makes mine different is this; have you ever looked in your closet and thought, "Wow, I don't have anything to wear," well I am here to tell you that you do! This blog is entirely about making outfits from what you already have in your closet. Yes, of course we all don't have the same items of clothing but this blog is to give you more of an idea on how to put outfits together, an inspiration of sorts. I am a girl on a budget. A very tight budget and that being said, I wont have a set budget on clothing every month like other frugal bloggers. Let's get real here, in this bad economy most women don't have a set budget every month to spend on clothes.  That's why this blog is about what you already have. I will note where I got every piece of clothing and accessory, give styling advice, and what key essentials are needed in every womans' wardrobe! I will also note if I add any new additions to my closet.

I am a woman of many styles. I typically dress by my mood and I don't really like to stick to one certain type of style. One day I might feel like sporty chic and the next day I will feel like being a preppy rocker. That is why fashion gets me excited; so many different styles to play with. Fashion should be fun and effortless. So stay tunned. 365 Outfits will start next week!!!
