Outfit # 149: Spring update

First off, I would like to apologize for the lack of blogs lately. Lack of time has gotten the best of me. I will still continue to try and reach 365 outfits just not on a daily basis. So make sure you come back frequently to check. I will do the best I can to keep up.

This look has been updated just by switching out a pair of blue skinny jeans to white skinny jeans. It instantly updates and freshens the look. I kept my accessories simple. I took my white and silver D&G watch and matched the silver within the watch to coinside with the silver flats. Keeping the accessories light, keeps the look sharp and fresh!

Outfit # 145,146,147,148

This nautical inspired dress is super cute and can be worn all Spring and Summer long. I added a slouchy cropped cardigan over it along with putting a wide tan and cognac belt. I added a soft gold necklace with flower accents and chose a blush color pair of sunglasses. This look is young and youthful and can be worn for many different events. I concluded the outfit with tan wedges.

To conclude Spring dress week, I wanted to keep it simple and therefore I chose a red cotton dress. I added a cropped jean jacket and kept my accessories to a minimum with just a white watch and aviator. Tan wedges keep things neutral to let the outfit standout.

For Sunday's look, I took a pair of fun white skinny jeans and chose a white and navy striped blouse. Spring is all about keeping things simple and fun and this look is simple with neutral wedges and adding accessories with silver tones. I added a pair of sheer sunglasses to give the look a laid back look.

For Monday's look, I wanted to have some fun playing with some mod flare. I chose this a-line flounce skirt and 40's style blouse with a round collar. I added a skinny red belt to give the look a pop of color and add some style to the black skirt. I also added a chunky black necklace. Diamond stud earrings and a white watch with silver toning add style. Lastly, patent leather t-straps finishes off this vintage looking outfit

Outfit #144: Spring dress 5

Spring is all about color this year however it's still acceptable to wear your LBD, (little black dress.) The reason this works for spring is because the fabric is light weight and it's also flowy. I chose to edge this look out and therefore, added a cropped leather jacket. I rolled the sleeves up for a styling element. I would have preferred to have an edgier necklace but didn't have one that fit up on my upper chest like the one shown. I also added some silver accessories.

I chose these shoes because they have an edge to them with the silver spikes on them. The contrast of these shoes add an extra quirkiness to the outfit.

Outfit # 143 : Spring dress 4

Stripes are of course a staple this spring and summer. Since I love blue and yellow together, I chose a tan belt with a yellow flower for a deep contrast. I added a short sleeve cropped denim jacket to make this look more casual. I chose a white watch and to complete the look, I added wedges with yellow and blue detailing.

Outfit# 142: Spring Dress # 3

I wanted to take a spring dress and vamp it up with some accessories. I chose to put a denim blazer over it for some added style and cuffed the sleeves. I chose to wear a soft gold necklace to tie in with the gold hardware on the jacket. I then chose a brown belt and belted the dress at the waist. To add a little more spunk, I chose to add a wide cuffed turquoise watch. I finished the look off with brown gladiator wedges and I chose these to tie in with the belt.

Outfit # 141: Spring Dress # 2

This dress is super cute with the ruffle detailing at the neck and the color is perfect for spring. I added a belt with a yellow flower to play off the blue. I added a silver flower ring and a white watch to accessorize this look. I didn't want to add a necklace because of the ruffle detailing at the top. I thought adding wedges for this look was quite appropriate and the fact that they are yellow with some blue flower detailing matches perfectly. The only thing that is missing from this look is my tan!

Outfit # 140 : Spring Dress Week #1

This week I am focusing on spring dresses because the whole week will be in the 60's and 70's. So I wanted to start off with a long navy maxi dress and added fun touches with the cropped jean jacket and the soft gold necklace with flower detailing. I kept it simple by just adding flip flops. This is a very casual look that is perfect for a casual Sunday.

Outfit # 135,136,137,138,139

First of all I would like to apologize on the delay. It has been a super busy week! With this outfit, I wanted to add an extra layer for warmth and therefore, I added a long white sleeved turtle neck. I picked a white one because it gives an intriguing contrast to the eye. I took a belt and put it at the waist to emphasize shape because this is a fairly up and down straight looking dress. I added silver a silver ball ring and a faux diamond stud black watch to finish of the look along with my 40's style t-strap heels.

It has started to get warm here in Colorado this week and I wanted to pull some spring stuff out so I can enjoy the weather with season appropriate style. The only thing that is missing is my tan so sorry for the pasty whiteness! I took a yellow round neck shirt and paired it with a baby blue a-line skirt to give myself some shape. I love blue and yellow together. I finished the look off with a multi shade blue scarf added to my hair as a headband and kept my accessories light in shade with silver and white. I kept my earrings simple with faux diamond studs and finished my bottom portion up with some tan wedges.

Like I have mentioned before, stripes and polka dots are huge spring and summer staples. This unique top has some cascading detail on the side and some cinching at the top. I added a micro polka dot scarf to play with mixing patterns and added a solid navy cardigan to tie the scarf and the shirt together. I chose skinny jeans and wanted to add more interesting styling touches with the cuff at the bottom. I added a white watch and pulled out some cute sandals.

Once again, I love blue and yellow together and played with different shades with this outfit. I took a simple navy tank and put it under a double breasted style 3/4 sleeve yellow jacket for contrast. I then took a different shade of blue scarf with some silver detailing.  I added a white watch to keep is springy and cuffed my jeans for a styling element and chose to add tan wedges.

In honor of the 2010 champions of the MLS Cup and to represent opening day, I am wearing my sports attire. To make it cute, I chose to wear my hair in pigtails and to keep it girly added some faux diamond studs. I added a long sleeve tee shirt for warmth when the sun goes down and kept the look chill with my flip flops.

Outfit # 134: Sweater Dress and Fur Vest Combo

I took a turtle neck sweater dress and put a fur sweater vest over it. A styling tip I would like to change however, is not zipping up the vest but put the belt over the fur vest. That would create shape and dimension, instead of looking boxy. I kept my accessories silver so it could play off the grey fur vest. I also added grey calve booties with bow detailing so it would give the look a more fun feel. Diamond stud earrings complete the look.

Outfit # 131, 132, 133

The rounding of the collar flaps and the slight puff in the sleeves give this look a bit of a 50's flare. Adding a pearl necklace and pearl bracelets soften the look and give it a girly touch. I chose a black belt to cinch in my waist and to break up the blouse and the skirt. I chose another vintage touch by adding the 40's style t-straps. Lastly,  faux diamond studs finish  the look off.

This is an update to a look that I had done earlier in the blog. I took this girly look from before and edged it out by adding a cropped leather jacket, a stone and feather chain necklace, tights, black wedged booties and a black solid belt. Just by adding different pieces to an outfit, can completely change it's aesthetic. I finished the accessories with my silver ball ring.

As usual, Sunday's look is more casual but this one has a little more spice and has some late 60's touches. This cute micro polka dot blouse is paired with long and lean jeans that have a slight flare. I added a white wide headband to bring out the white dots.
I added some contrasting t-strap heels in a marigold yellow color. The yellow against the blue adds a great touch. Lastly, I added a white watch and faux diamond earrings to finish the youthfulness part of this look.

Color is a huge trend right now and will be seen throughout the summer and I think it's fun to play with colored shoes rather then just black ones. I encourage everyone to venture out of wearing black shoes for awhile and try some colorful ones!

Outfit # 130: Ready For Some Springness

I am really looking forward to spring and anoraks scream spring. The one I am wearing is a cropped style with 3/4 sleeves and I chose to wear a navy striped shirt underneath for some added style. I took a skinny red belt and cinched it in at the waist to give me some shape and dimension. I cuffed my jeans for fun styling extra and chose red heels to go with the red belt. For accessories I chose a contrasting gold chain with flower detailing which you can't see very well. (sorry!)
